With her recent solo single “Angel” and upcoming EP, Halle’s musical journey is captivating fans. Her album announcement adds excitement to her transformative solo career. Stay tuned for this musical revelation!

The anticipation for Halle Bailey’s debut solo project has reached a fever pitch. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the talented half of the Grammy-nominated R&B duo Chloe x Halle confirmed that her inaugural solo EP is set to drop “definitely” before the year’s end.

“Angel” – A Powerful Prelude to Halle’s Solo Journey

Just last month, on August 4th, Bailey unveiled her debut solo single, “Angel,” a track infused with gospel and jazz influences that exudes empowerment. In her conversation with Cosmo, Bailey delved into how her life experiences have been instrumental in shaping her upcoming project. She expressed, “Ariel was my college experience. She was the one to say, ‘Look, look what you have in you. You can.’ Nettie was the same type of lesson, almost in a spiritual way. These characters are speaking to me and teaching me.” She continued, “It’s cool to learn things about life through their eyes. And all musical inspiration really just comes from life experiences. Love has been a really big one for me too because that’s something I’m experiencing for the first time.”

A Star-Studded Journey with “The Color Purple”

This winter, Halle Bailey will grace the silver screen as Young Nettie in the film adaptation of the beloved musical, “The Color Purple.” Directed by Blitz Bazawule and produced by luminaries like Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders, and Quincy Jones, “The Color Purple” is poised for a Christmas Day release. The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Ciara, H.E.R., Aunjanue Ellis, Colman Domingo, Danielle Brooks, and Phylicia Pearl Mpasi.

A Year of Cinematic Success

2023 marks a remarkable year for Halle Bailey’s cinematic journey. Earlier in the year, she dazzled audiences as Princess Ariel in Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid,” a film that made waves by grossing over $118 million during its opening weekend over Memorial Day. Bailey’s vocal prowess was on full display as she lent her unique voice to the film’s soundtrack, delivering stunning renditions of “Part of Your World” and introducing impressive new songs like “For the First Time.”

A Transformational Phase and Musical Exploration

Halle Bailey reflects on this transformative phase of her life, stating, “This has been a really beautiful transformative time for me. I have all this new material to write about.” Her creative inspiration has been in overdrive, and love has played a significant role in shaping her music. Describing the sound of her upcoming EP, she shares, “Sound-wise, it’s a little modern R&B-ish, with all the jazz elements and hints of pop that I love.”

Chloe x Halle’s Dual Solo Journeys

With Halle Bailey’s solo EP set to make waves later this year, both members of Chloe x Halle will have officially embarked on their individual solo journeys. Halle’s older sister, Chloe Bailey, known mononymously as Chlöe, released her debut solo studio album, “In Pieces,” earlier this year. Featuring standout singles like “Pray It Away” and “How Does It Feel” with Chris Brown, “In Pieces” made its mark, peaking at No. 119 on the top 200.

From Duo to Solo Success

As a duo, Chloe x Halle have left their mark on the music scene with two top 200 entries: “The Kids Are Alright” in 2018 (No. 139) and “Ungodly Hour” in 2020 (No. 16). Their hit single, “Do It,” from “Ungodly Hour,” also secured a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 63. Now, with Halle Bailey’s solo project on the horizon, fans can look forward to more remarkable music from these talented sisters, whether as a duo or pursuing their own unique paths in the industry.
